Morning Literacy Journal & Calender Journal

  It is  CrAzY how a quick review daily on math facts and literacy skills revisited everyday can boost our children's knowledge!!!   Trust us!!  We do it and have seen dramatic results!  We had SUCH CrAzY great success with the knowledge our little ones were gaining with our calender journal that we decided we needed a morning worksheet with literacy reviews just pounding it into their heads daily.  So here it is bundled together for January.  Each month the skills slightly change to add new skills that were learned to keep the challenge going.  We will post them monthly.  Here is January's calender journal and literacy morning work.  A quick page for math time and a quick page for bell work to review all the things they need to know.  Morning bell work..... check it off your lesson plan because we just did it for you.  Calender Journal... check it off your lesson plan!  How CrAzY cool is that?!!!  The first 24 hours it is on sale!

CrAzY Fun with Polar Express

Before I start this post I would just like to send our condolences out to all the families affected by the tragedy in CT. As a mom, I can't image what those parents went through yesterday and will continue going through for many years to come. As a teacher, I can't even put into words what I am feeling for that faculty.  Hold your little ones a little tighter from now on. Each and every day is precious! We are blessed to do what we do!

This may come too late for some of you that are already on Christmas break but, unfortunately, we still have a week left. We hope you will still check it out and maybe pick it up for next year!

We love Polar Express! In the past we haven't dedicated too much time to it because the last few days before the holidays are so CrAzY. This year we planned early so we would leave plenty of time for all the fun. Creating this packet has made us CrAzY! We didn't create it with my normal centers in mind. Our plan was to rotate around to our different classrooms and have different fun in each one. So we needed activities that students could complete independently.

Here is our plan:
Literacy room: syllables, write the room, sight word practice, weekly reader
Math room: patterns, WAR with number cards, sequencing/counting, memory, roll and color
Writing room: 5 different writing prompts available
Games Room: we will play games on the Promethean board

Included in this packet are all the pieces you need to play these games. These will fit perfectly in your current workstations/centers if you don't have the ability to rotate to different rooms.

Our favorite part is a customizable name tag for Polar Express day. You will be able to change the student name, school name, and year.

I Smell Cinammon!!

This time of year is SO fun!  To inspire these children that we have for 8 hours a day is a huge obligation.  It's Gingerbread time!!  These little gingerbread activities will do the trick- the clipart is precious and the activities are CrAzY fun!  We hope this takes a little less time out of your planning time so you can have a little more time to have fun with your kids this holiday season!!   

That CrAzY Elf!

Last year at the last minute I decided to buy an Elf on the Shelf. My girls are 17 and 21 so I was missing those fun activities you can do when they are younger. I was wishing I could do it when I thought of my school kids! I was so excited! Since it was last minute I just kinda winged it! Well, this year I wanted to do it for a longer period of time and better! This packet was created to make the best of this CrAzY elf! I am excited for him to visit us soon! Roll and Cover boards---for an entire year!

We love centers that you can teach the kids one time and then rotate in and out throughout the year. Our kids are CrAzY for these Roll and Cover boards. We have used them for years but as Roll and Color. This year we decided to try and cut down on the amount of paper we use and turned the Roll and Color into Roll and Cover. This way they can be included in a center and reused over and over again.

Included are 69 boards using 1 dice and 69 boards using 2 dice.
We used a variety of clip art that can be used during all holidays, events and even generic ones that can be used any time during the year.

Here is how this works: We recommend you print on card stock and laminate for durability. Students may use any variety of counters. We prefer to use small round discs. Students will roll the dice (or 2) and count the dots. Counter will be placed over number. Keep playing until all numbers are covered. They can also be copied and student can color the circles when the number is rolled if you prefer Roll and Color.

Students can easily determine how many dice are needed based on the dice picture on the upper right hand corner. Click on one of the pics below to go straight to our stores.
