Pets: Our latest $1 deal

What child doesn't want a pet?? We have some CrAzY cute pets writing pages as our latest $1 deal. This packet comes with the cutest pets. There are hamsters, birds, lizards, turtles, and many more!  This packet has a bunch of writing pages and What's Wrong with Me? pages. Also included are vocabulary cards. These are great to put up for the kids to reference during their writing. They can also be used on a random writing day. Student will close eyes and pick a card. That is what they write about that day. CrAzY cute, right? The last thing included in this packet are 2 student readers. One was created with simple sentences for Fall and the other with more detailed sentences for Spring.

Objectives

As much as it STINKS that we have to have these posted in our classroom.... mine as well make them CrAzY CUTE- that way it makes it a little easier on us right?!!!  So we found this idea on pinterest ~~~ what in the WORLD did we do before pinterest???...oh I know.... read, wrote letters to people I missed, knitted, meditated- WHATEVER Pinterest ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF!  So here is the great idea and we created the papers you need to go into the frames.  Go buy yourself FIVE 8x10 $1 frames.... or $5 frames... whatever you want to spend but we like the cheapies.....print off the pages from our Objectives Packet onto paper (we printed ours onto FUN BRIGHT scrapbook paper), then frame them, and write your objectives on them with a dry erase marker!  OMG!  BRILLIANT!!!!!  By the way it's a Freebie!

Classrom Management Linky Party!

Beg -Borrow- and Steal- that's our advice on how to become a CrAzY Awesome teacher!  So lets start with Classroom Management!!  Link up with you favorite classroom management tricks so we can steal some CrAzY ideas for next school year.  Here are our favorites that we use "erry day...erry day".

1.  Smellies-  kids can earn smellies for following instructions the 1st time, getting in line without talking, no talking in the halls- however you call it.  All it takes is a yummylicious smelling chapstick and rub a little on the back of their hand and bazam! Let them sniff away.  And watch near the end of the year one or two will figure out how to run the backside of their hands together and pretend they actually earned 2 smellies!

2.  Put a Bubble in your mouth-  1st week of school we teach them to "put a bubble in their mouth" I have since learned that I also need to teach them to breath through their nose while holding their bubble.  We love love love the bubble because we can look at them clear across the room and make the bubble face without making a sound- and they miraculously find their bubble.  Heck to the yeah!

3.  Give me 5-  Oldie but goodie. When we say "give me 5" students stop what they are doing, drop anything in their hands (unless its the classroom pet) put a bubble in their mouth (see #2 above) and eyes on the teacher, 'cause what we are about to say is super important; like that I am getting my hair done after school.

4.  Response Songs- Teacher:"Ba ba ba ba ba...." and the kids respond "I'm lovin' it"-  that tells them we need everyone's attention.  There are lots of these fun songs you can do this with.  I just particularly love McDonald's soft serve, its so soft and so cheap that I think of it a lot during the day so this song is used lots in our classroom.  If Sonic had a song, that would be used the most because our team loves Sonic drinks, we love hem so much we are trying to incorporate "Thirsty Thursday" into the lesson plan each week for a Route 44 at happy hour time...I'll stop and we will save that for another post.

I Saw It On Pinterest Linky Party

How many times a day do you say "I Saw It On Pinterest"? Well, we say it a CrAzY amount of times--especially when talking to each other! I decided to join a Pinterest Linky Party hosted by Amber at

We are so happy that summer is here and we are able to spend a CrAzY amount of time exploring Pinterest. We missed it with the CraZiness of the end of the year!

 During Read to Self I always struggle with remembering where they sit! They always want to move around but I like a little more consistency! I think this is a great compromise!

This is great when talking about weight. It gets them use to what the balance looks like with objects on it along with thinking about what is heavier and lighter.

I am definitely doing this in August! I think it will be great for my math and word work journals. There is a lot of space on each page left over. I am hoping this will also help them learn to write smaller and manage their space better. Love this!! (P.S. Author said Home Depot will cut these books.)

This is a super cute visual to remind the kids what to look for in their writing!

I want to do this at the beginning of the year and at the end! I'm thinking of making 2 different frames. Maybe "I'm a Kinder student" for the beginning and the one above for the end.

I made these last week and not only were they easy to make but super yummy!

This is a favorite in my house! The only thing I do different is to add some chicken stock to make it more like a soup.

Another favorite in my house! I love to make these because they are one of the quickest cookies to make! Also, one recipe makes so many!

CrAzY for Assessment? We are!

Do you dread assessments? Do you stock up on chocolate just to get through it? If so, you need to check this out!

This is one of our most favorite things! If you made a list of our "Have To Have" CrAzY things, this would be on it! This is an online assessment that will make your life easier. What kid doesn't love to play on the computer or even iPad? Ours love it!  Here is how it works: there are lots of pre-loaded tests all ready for you to start. You can also customize any test you need. We test sight words, shapes, numbers, letters, letter sounds, blends, CVC words, coins, time, patterns, and LOTS more that we can't remember.

You are probably thinking, "So, what?". Well, the items come up on the screen and the kids tell you the answer and you click yes or no.  Here is the best part: it puts all results together and compiles spreadsheets, graphs, and our favorite part, parent letters. It will even generate flash cards for any items the kids miss.

Another CrAzY thing we love is it keeps track of everything. So, let's say Bobby knows all his letters except for B,D,Q, So next time you want to test Bobby it will just show him B,D,Q.

Here is the downside: it is not free. It does cost money each year. We asked our PTA for help and they said yes!!!!  Stop! Don't leave yet!! Free At Last!

Free at last!  Free at last!  Thank God almighty we are free at last!  School's out! And lazy days are in!  Wait..... scratch that I have a 6 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old.  And my Teamie has physical therapy and is a pinterest nut so we will be making tons of fun crafts- there will be nothing lazy about our summer.  However she will be sleeping in cause she loves it, and I will not be, due to my 6am riser.  Boo!  Here is a fun freebie we saw and fell in love with on Pinterest.  Packet of Kool Aid and a CrAzY straw and attach the tag: Have A CrAzY KOOL Summer!  (below) Give to your kids on the last day of school.  We are CrAzY about it!
